Takes over the global sales and service network of the Duisburg, Germany-based equipment maker
Graz, Austria – Austrian metrology company Anton Paar has advanced its previously announced acquisition and integration of materials processing & test equipment maker Brabender.
As of 1 Jan, Anton Paar has taken over the global sales & service network of Duisburg, Germany-based Brabender, which it acquired last August, Anton Paar announced 2 Jan.
Best known in the plastics and rubber industries for its extruders, Brabender serves a wide range of industries, including as well food, animal feed and specialist areas such as batteries.
The German company will now have access to Anton Paar’s 37 global sales & service centres supported by 650 certified technicians in 110 countries.
This, according to the Austrian group, will provide “fast, efficient support” to Brabender’s customers in addition to a “comprehensive training programme.”
Last August, Graz-headquartered Anton Paar linked the purchase to the German company's know-how in measuring instruments – built up over its 100-year heritage.
The acquisition, it stated, represented a “promising addition” to Anton Paar's product portfolio, especially in the growing field of materials characterisation.
With 4,200 employees, Anton Paar offers measurement and process engineering systems & equipment for testing various raw materials and for recipe and process development.
With the deal, Brabender has been integrated into Anton Paar Group as Anton Paar TorqueTec GmbH.
The aim is to "sustainably expand and further strengthen Brabender's sites in Duisburg and Hackensack, in the US," said Dr Friedrich Santner, CEO of Anton Paar GmbH at the time of purchase.
“Being part of the Anton Paar Group opens up many opportunities for us – both in R&D of our products, as well as in sales & service,” added Brabender managing director Dr David Szczesny.
