Vietnam project “crucial" to Chinese group’s globalisation strategy, focused on building up overseas deliveries
Trang Bang Town, Vietnam – Mesnac has broken ground on a new tire mould and machinery production facility in Trang Bang Town, in the southeastern Vietnamese province of Tay Ninh.
The project marks a ‘crucial' part of the Chinese machinery major’s globalisation strategy for tire moulds and its target to build a global brand, Mesnac announced 15 Jan.
The Vietnam base, it said, will “enhance overseas delivery and service capabilities, expand business scope, strengthen global supply capacity, and enhance the global influence of the brand.”
To be operated by subsidiary Mesnac Union Technology, the factory will employ “advanced automation and intelligent equipment... and customise a dedicated information management platform.”
Furthermore, the Chinese group said it will apply “cutting-edge” mould manufacturing technologies to optimise production efficiency and quality at the site.
Described by Mesnac as “the most modernised mould manufacturing factory”, the unit will also deliver sustainability via green energy, recycling and employment policy.
Mesnac disclosed its plans to build the Vietnam factory in June last year. At the time, it said the facility would be completed in 18 months.
The project involves equipment purchase and installation costs of Yuan56.39 million (€7.5 million); land costs of Yuan16.32 million; construction costs of Yuan29.10 million; and working capital of Yuan5 million.
