Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Group has completed the divestment of its Czech-based operation for the manufacture of automotive antivibration components to investment group Kaprain.
Located in Hradec Kralove, the anti-vibration parts unit reported annual sales of SEK450 million (€40 million) and made “a minor loss” last year, said Trelleborg in a 29 Dec 2023 annoucement.
The Swedish group announced plans to divest the unit in October last year.
The operation primarily develops and manufactures antivibration systems for the chassis and engines of light and heavy automotive vehicles.
Trelleborg largely withdrew from the automotive antivibration components segment in 2016 with the divestment of its shares in Vibracoustic. (ERJ report)
“Anti-vibration solutions for automotive light and heavy vehicles is not a core business for us,” said Peter Nilsson, president and CEO, in the group's announcement earlier last year.
New Czech-based owner Kaprain “wants to develop the operation further with a clearer regional focus,” added Nilsson.
