Tire maker Dębica receives €4m in Polish government aid

Support under scheme to help energy-intensive industries cope with increased natural gas and electricity costs
Debica, Poland – D?bica SA has received PLN17,307,600 (around €4 million) in financial aid under a government scheme to help manufacturers in Poland deal with sharp rises in energy costs, the tire company announced 21 Dec.
The programme, titled ‘Aid for energy-intensive industries related to natural gas and electricity prices in 2023’ is run by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
US group Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co has an 87.251% shareholding in D?bica, which manufactures tires for passenger cars, vans and trucks on the Polish market.
The Polish company produces tires both under its own brand D?bica and other Goodyear brands – including: Goodyear, Dunlop, Fulda and Sava – and is also a manufacturer of vulcanising membranes for tire production.
