Italian tire maker's best providers in area of sustainability, quality, innovation, performance and service
Milan, Italy – Pirelli has named its five top suppliers in the categories of sustainability, quality of raw materials, innovation, performance and service.
Announced at a 2023 'supplier day' event in Milan, the companies were selected from among 15,000 suppliers globally, according to a 5 Dec Pirelli statement.
The event, it said, highlighted Pirelli’s ‘open innovation approach’, in particular its focus on “new bio-based and recycled materials as well as innovative nano polymers.”
In the category of sustainability, China-headquartered Himile Mechanical Science and Technology (Shandong) won the top title for its vulcanisation moulds.
With regard to quality, Anhui, China-based Quechen Silicon Chemical took the top spot for its supply of silica to the tire maker.
Germany’s VI-grade GmbH came top in the innovation category for its virtual simulators, while Italian adhesive bands supplier Abrasivi & Adesivi was recognised for performance.
Indorama Ventures Mobility Cremona, part of the Thai Indorama Ventures, won Pirelli's excellence award for its supply of reinforced textiles.
