Supermax reorganises, adds new executive roles, to advance global reach

Malaysian rubber gloves maker names CEO, COO, to support expanded distribution, future footprint in North America
Kuala Lumpur – Supermax Corp. has announced a major organisational restructuring which will see the group introducing the new roles of chief executive officer and chief operating officer.
The senior management rejig is intended to support Supermax’s strategic plans to “synergise” its operations across Malaysia and the US, said the latex gloves maker 18 Dec.
Effective 2 Jan 2024, Tan Chee Keong will be appointed as senior executive director and CEO, taking over the bulk of responsibilities from Dato’ Seri Stanley Thai, founder and executive chairman of the Malaysian group.
According to Supermax, the CEO, along with other executive officials introduced with the reorganisation, will support its expanded distribution and future production footprint in North America.
Tan joined Supermax in 2000, initially serving as VP of Aurelia Gloves, a division of Supermax Healthcare Inc., and later as the CEO of Supermax Healthcare Inc.
With over 20 years of experience in the US healthcare gloves market, Tan has been involved in Supermax’s growth and global marketing initiatives.
He has also been involved in the recent establishment of Supermax’s first US manufacturing facility, in Brazoria County, Texas, the construction of which is set to be “substantially completed” by the yearend.
Following the appointment, Tan will continue to serve as CEO of Supermax Healthcare Inc. and Maxter Healthcare Inc. in the US.
The new organisational structure also includes the addition of several key management positions filled by the promotion of existing internal staff.
Tan Bow Kok, who has been with Supermax Group since 1999, will be appointed as the new COO, overseeing the manufacturing operations of Supermax Group.
He will be assisted by a new deputy chief operating officer, said the Supermax statement.
The group will also appoint a new chief quality assurance and regulatory affairs officer to ‘synergise’ quality assurance and global manufacturing operations for smoother marketing efforts.
