UK business supplies rubber components for applications in aerospace, energy and F1
Stockholm – Swedish technology group Lagercrantz has acquired DP Seals Ltd, a UK-based maker of rubber sealings and mouldings for high-specification applications.
Based in Poole, southern England, DP Seals has a turnover of £5 million (€5.8 million) with “good profitability”, according to Lagercrantz.
The acquired company can design and manufacture customised rubber seals, gaskets and mouldings with “intricate geometries,” said Lagercrantz's 11 Dec announcement.
With in-house tooling design and manufacturing capabilities, DP Seals also produces parts for demanding industrial equipment applications, it further claimed.
In particular, Lagercrantz said parts manufactured by DP Seals are used in applications such as aerospace programmes, subsea energy connections and Formula 1 racing cars.
The Swedish group sees “major opportunities” to develop the business in cooperation with the management team, said Russel Stuart, CEO of Lagercrantz UK.
Lagercrantz will support DP Seals as a “stable main owner who takes a long-term view,” added Andrew Piper, managing director and owner of DP Seals.
DP Seals is being positioned within Lagercrantz’ international division as of December 2023.
With around 2,600 employees and annual sales of about SEK 7,700 million (€683 million), Nasdaq Stockholm-listed Lagercrantz Group is active in nine countries in northern Europe as well as in China, India and the US.
The group’s portfolio covers products for: an ‘electrified and connected’ society; control and measure technology; security & surveillance; niche products, such as pumps for foodstuffs, sharpening systems and special doors.
Lagercrantz is also focused on products and technologies in areas such as automation, railway infrastructure and the expansion of renewable energy, primarily in northern Europe.
