New owner “familiar with the business and wants to continue developing it”
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Group has finalised the divestment of a UK operation specialised in trading of customised metal components.
The divested operation was part of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area and reported annual sales of SEK60 million (€5 million) in 2022, announced the group 1 Dec.
Trelleborg expects the divestment to contribute positively to cash flow but not have “any impact” on the group’s net profit.
The move, said the group, safeguards Trelleborg from the costs associated with a planned business restructuring.
Sold to a local entrepreneur, the Southampton-based operation trades in customised metal components in Europe.
“Trading in metal components is not a core operation for Trelleborg,” explained president and CEO Peter Nilsson.
The new owner, he said, is “familiar with the business and wants to continue developing it.”
