IoM3 also planning first 2024 technical afternoon to discuss ‘any aspect of elastomer materials’
London - The IoM3 Elastomers Group will investigate the role of elastomers in sustainable fashion during its upcoming technical meeting 15 Dec.
The hybrid afternoon webinar will be free to attend, and will be held at the group’s London headquarters.
Speakers at the event will include:
• Prof Veronika Kapsali, chair, Smart Materials and Systems Group • Maria Jose Munguia-Romero, PhD Student, Soft Matter Group, School of Engineering & Material Science, Queen Mary University of London • Kresse Wessling CBE, co-founder, Elvis & Kresse • Edward (TJ) Mitchell, co-founder & CTO, Arda Biomaterials
Furthermore, the London elastomer group is planning its first technical afternoon meeting of 2024 on 8 March, to ‘link academia with industry’.
The event aims to match ongoing research activities to industrial requirements, announced the elastomer group 30 Nov.
For this, universities and companies are invited to deliver short talks of about 5 minutes each on topics related to “any aspect of elastomer materials”.
Topics could include but are not limited elastomers operating in more demanding environments; elastomer sustainability; reducing elastomer waste in the environment; alternatives to hazardous materials used to produce elastomers.
Also of interest will be AI tools for elastomer product development; new elastomer products; smart functional elastomer materials; elastomers in energy generation or developing soft flexible elastomer actuators.
Contributors interested in presenting at the event are invited to register their interest before 14 Dec.
