Sailun advances 100ktpa off-road tire project in China
Subsidiary Zhucheng Yongan Rubber Technology to convert existing site for production of OTR tires
Weifang City, China – Sailun Tire subsidiary Zhucheng Yongang Rubber Technology Co. is set to convert its existing production site in Weifang City, Shandong province for the manufacture of off-road tires.
In an announcement 29 Nov, Sailun said the project will use the existing land and factory buildings to house new equipment to produce 100 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) of off-highway tires.
The additional equipment, it noted, will include three internal mixers and four renovated internal mixers, 156 vulcanisers as well as moulding and extrusion equipment.
Earlier this year, Sailun filed an environmental impact report for a project to dismantle facilities for the production of 300,000 all-steel radial tires and 5.46 million semi-steel radial tires at the site.
Formerly Anchi Tire, Zhucheng Yongan Rubber Technology Co. was fully acquired by Sailun in 2021, following a bankruptcy reorganisation.
Sailun is expected to employ its liquid rubber mixing technology at the revamped site. (ERJ report)
