Brussels – The European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) has elected Goodyear EMEA leader Chris Delaney as its next president.
Delaney, who is president EMEA Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., will take on the ETRMA role for a two-year term, starting 1 Jan 2024.
Upon his election, announced 9 Nov, Delaney said his priorities will include helping ETRMA members address “increased legislation and regulation.”
With upcoming elections for the European Parliament and European Commission, the president-elect noted that 2024 “will be a crucial year for the industry.
ETRMA, he added, will "strive to provide safe and sustainable mobility for all, whilst recognising the decisive economic and social importance of the wider rubber and tire sector.”
Delaney replaces Franco Annunziato of Bridgestone, who was credited for his leadership at ETRMA on key regulatory topics such as Euro 7, tire labelling, tire wear and the digitalisation.
Furthermore, Brussels-based ETRMA named Dr Ralf Holschumacher of the German rubber industry body (WDK) as vice president of the association.
The ETRMA board meeting on 9 Nov also formally approved the application of Toyo Tires to become a full Member of the association as of 1 Jan 2024.
“Toyo’s joining is a vote of confidence in the association’s crucial work in pursuing a supportive legislative and regulatory environment for the industry,” said Annunziato.
