Neptune Holding working with Finnish consulting firm Black Donuts on greenfield project
Douala, Cameroon – Neptune Holding Co. is planning to build Cameroon’s first tire manufacturing facility, working with Black Donuts Engineering (BDE) as technical partner.
Located at Bomono, near the African state's western coast, the project is expected to cost FCFA400 billion (€600 million) and create up to 2,500 direct jobs.
The Cameroon Tires Factory (CTF) will have the capacity to produce 4.6 million units of tires per year, BDE recently announced.
The capacity will include 4 million units of passenger car tires and 600,000 units of truck tires per annum, the Finland-based consultancy added.
The location in Bomono is adjacent to Cameroon Development Co.'s oil palm and rubber plantations, offering ready access to natural rubber supplies.
Cameroonian-owned Neptune Holding, according to BDE, has scheduled tire production at the facility to commence in 2025.
