Digital platform to offer “integrated end-to-end trade and traceability system” in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur - Natural rubber (NR) trading platform Agridence Rubber Pte (formerly HeveaConnect) has signed a technical collaboration agreement with the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) to advance the sustainability of NR.
The partnership will involve a ‘pilot project’ to develop a digital platform to embed tracking systems within the Malaysian natural rubber supply chain, said Agridence 3 Nov.
The scope of the cooperation, it added, is to develop “an integrated end-to-end trade and traceability system, that will streamline the transition towards regulatory compliance and sustainability.”
The final goal of the one-year project is to provide “Malaysian sustainable natural rubber” (MSNR) to the stakeholders, said Agridence.
As part of the initiative, the partners will jointly establish “a robust framework for seamlessly sharing and integrating data”.
The framework will encompass traceability data spanning the entire rubber production process, distribution, and processing, according to the statement.
The integrated data will then be linked with the Agridence rubber platform, where physical natural rubber trades take place between Malaysian rubber producers and buyers.
According to Agridence, MRB’s current activities in digitalising Malaysia’s domestic rubber supply chain will enable the partnership.
Some of the initiatives include: rubber transaction authority permit (PAT-G) for smallholders, RRIMniaga application for dealers, e-rubber processor (e-RP) for processors, and e-rubber manufacturer (e-RM) for manufacturers.
