“Antivibration solutions for automotive light and heavy vehicles is not a core business for us...”
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Group is to divest its Czech-based operation for the manufacture of automotive antivibration components to investment group Kaprain.
Located in Hradec Kralove, the anti-vibration parts unit reported annual sales of SEK450 million (€38 million) and made “a minor loss” last year, said a 25 oct Trelleborg annoucement.
The operation develops and manufactures primarily antivibration systems for the chassis and engines of light and heavy automotive vehicles, the Swedish group noted.
Trelleborg largely withdrew from the automotive antivibration components segment in 2016 with the divestment of its shares in Vibracoustic. (ERJ report)
“Anti-vibration solutions for automotive light and heavy vehicles is not a core business for us,” said Peter Nilsson, president and CEO.
New Czech-based owner Kaprain “wants to develop the operation further with a clearer regional focus,” added Nilsson.
According to Trelleborg, the divestment is expected to be finalised during the fourth quarter of 2023.
