Friedrichshafen, Germany – COIM SpA has introduced a range of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), which can be supplied with a carbon-content from renewable sources of over 70%.
The Laripur RS branded products are based on feedstock derived from “controlled supply-chain plant cultivation products,” the Italian materials company said at the Fakuma expo held 17-21 Oct in Friedrichshafen.
Target applications include "luxury fashion soles" for footwear makers requiring “environmentally-friendly, high-performance and easy-to-use products,” said Buccinasco, Milan-based COIM.
Supplied in granular form, Laripur TPUs are used in injection moulding, continuous extrusion or calendering processes to manufacture articles with good mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
