With over 85% bio-based content, product can be used in tires, belts, hose, footwear and medical devices
The Woodlands, Texas – SI Group has reported a promising market response to its recently introduced bio-based Naugard Bio-XL ‘ultra-accelerator’ for curing tires and technical rubber goods.
“Customers have also found it to be an [effective] alternative to DPG, or diphenylguanidine, in rubber formulations,” SI Group said in a 12 Oct press release.
Formulated with over 85% bio-based content, the product is said to be free from substances of very high concern under REACH, and not to generate harmful nitrosamines.
The accelerator is also claimed to offer enhanced sustainability without compromising performance in applications such as tires, belts, hose, footwear and medical devices.
Reporting a positive industry response since its introduction in March, Robert Kaiser, VP polymer solutions and MD, EMEA at SI Group, said the product would help “to improve the sustainability of the rubber industry.”
