Chain-of-custody certification endorses processing and distribution of products harvested from FSC-certified forests
Hiratsuka, Japan – YT Rubber Co. (YTRC), a Thai natural rubber processing company of Yokohama Rubber, has obtained chain-of-custody (CoC) certification from the forest stewardship council FSC.
The certificate by the sustainability organisation was awarded to YTRC in July and endorses the processing and distribution of products harvested from FSC-certified forests.
The FSC certification is a mechanism to provide consumers with visibility toward products using forest materials from well-managed forests.
The approval guarantees that “all processes up to the completion of products” are controlled to prevent contamination by “ineligible raw materials”, YTRC said in September.
Acquisition of the CoC certification, it added, reflects the principles of “improving traceability” and ”environmental initiatives” set forth in the group’s procurement policy.
