Ohio-based MED supplies to “industry- leading customers” in medical device and bioprocessing markets
Camarillo, California – US manufacturer of single-use bioprocessing technology Sanisure has acquired an Ohio-based synthetic rubber manufacturer to improve security of supply and enhance its product portfolio.
Based in Twinsburg, Ohio, Medical Elastomer Development, Inc (MED) has a silicone extrusion facility and serves “industry- leading customers” in both the medical device and bioprocessing markets.
In a statement 20 Dec, Sanisure said the acquisition would strengthen its position as a supplier of critical fluid path management technologies for bioprocessing applications.
In particular, the addition further improves Sanisure's offering to customers working on “monoclonal antibody, vaccine, and cell and gene therapy modalities with single-use technologies.”
Sanisure also expects the purchase to provide it with broader access to other OEMs and channel partner distributors.
Based in Camarillo, California, Sanisure is a “vertically integrated” supplier of bio components with manufacturing and assembly operations in both North America and Europe.
Among other products, it offers a range of silicone extrusion and other elastomeric systems such as weldable and sealable thermoplastic elastomers and tubing.
"Silicone extrusion capabilities are core to our portfolio of fluid management products and solutions,” said Sanisure CEO Steven Chevillotte on the acquisition.
The acquisition, he said, will enable Sanisure to provide "high quality" silicone tubing and vertically integrated bioprocessing single-use solutions to customers.
