Rayong, Thailand – Bangkok Synthetics Co. Ltd is expanding its C4 value chain production facility in Map Ta Phut, Rayong.
In a 30 Jan statement, Toyo Engineering Korea Ltd said it had been awarded an EPC contract to build two new units at Bangkok Synthetic's existing site.
The 80-kilotonne-per-annum (ktpa) 1,3-butadiene and 34ktpa butene-1 plants are scheduled for completion in 2021.
The Bangkok-headquartered chemicals company was established in Thailand in 1991 as a “C4 business” and has one production facility in Rayong.
The company claims to be largest producer of mixed C4 products in the south east Asia.
It also manufactures styrene-butadiene rubber and synthetic latex.
