Malaysia's natural rubber production continues to rise

Production up 20% month-on-month and 6% year-on-year, according to official data
Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia's natural rubber (NR) continued to rise in May, showing a 20.1% month-on-month increase to 25,608 tonnes, latest official data show.
Year-on-year the output was up 6%, compared to 24,126 tonnes reported in May last year, said the country's department of statistics 12 July.
Total NR stocks decreased by just under 17% month-on-month to 175,368 tonnes in May.
In terms of exports, the country shipped 50,800 tonnes of natural rubber overseas in May, marking a 6.3% month-on-month increase.
China continued to remain the main destination for Malaysian NR, accounting for 39.2% of total exports.
The top five destinations also included India (10.6%), Germany (9.4%), the UAE (6.5%) and the US (4.6%).
