RSCI certification shows environmental and occupational safety are “indispensable prerequisites for growth in OE business…”
Zrenjanin, Serbia – Chinese group Linglong Tire’s factory in Serbia has been certified by the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative* (RSCI e.V.) association, the tire maker has announced.
The Linglong International Europe d.o.o. facility in Zrenjanin underwent an evaluation of its sustainability performance based on a standardised testing mechanism, said the 1 March statement.
Achieved at the end of 2024, the certification to the RSCI standard for automotive supply chains, involved transparent presentation and analysis of working conditions at the tire plant.
In 2023, Linglong said it became “the first and only tire manufacturer to join the alliance, which is focused on checking and [enhancing] the sustainability of companies in their supply-chains.”
Other factories of Shandong Linglong Tire Co. Ltd, such as its factory in Zhaoyuan, China, have previously been assessed under the RSCI’s testing mechanism, noted the release.
“As a tire manufacturer, we have great responsibility towards the environment and people in China, in Serbia and all over the world,” said Michael Beverin, director OE sales & OE quality at Linglong Germany GmbH.
RSCI certification, he added, shows that environmental and occupational safety are “indispensable prerequisites for further growth in the OE business and for achieving our ambitious goals.”
*The RSCI association was founded in 2021 by the Association of the Automotive Industry together with 14 other founding members, including Daimler, VW and BMW.
