Brussels – Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG) has signed up to become a ‘full corporate member’ of the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA).
PTG's membership, with immediate effect, was approved by the ETRMA board of directors, said the association's 25 Feb announcement.
The Italy-based tire maker “will enhance the representativeness and expertise of the organisation”, commented ETRMA president Chris Delaney.
Established in 2017 as a spin-off from Pirelli, Milan-headquartered PTG is a multi-brand manufacturer of truck, bus, agricultural and off-road (OTR) tires.
“We look forward to working with the other members and the secretariat to pursue a supportive legislative and regulatory environment for the industry”, said Roberto Righi, general manager of PTG.
According to ETRMA secretary general Adam McCarthy, PTG's decision to join shows how the 'critical mass' of the Brussels-based association is growing.
“Together we can create strong synergies to work even more efficiently to address the policy challenges ahead of us,” McCarthy added.
ERTMA now represents 13 tire manufacturers with production bases in Europe.
