Rebranding completes the acquisition of Nokian’s operations in Vsevolozhsk by Tatneft
Vsevolozhsk, Russia – Ikon Tyres, formerly Nokian Tyres Russia, has stopped the production Nordman-branded tires and has rebranded the products at Ikon Character.
The announcement was made during an 'Arctic' press event late last year, where the tire maker tested its winter tires in the presence of the press.
The rebranding completes the acquisition of Nokian’s operations in Vsevolozhsk by Tatneft in 2023 and the subsequent creation of Ikon Tyres.
The facility has the capacity to produce 17 million passenger car tires per year and includes a portfolio of winter and summer tires for passenger cars, SUVs, minivans and light trucks.
Following the acquisition, Ikon launched its premium line under the Autograph brand but said it continued to manufacture its mid-price line under the Nordman brand "for the time being."
The Ikon Tyres tire plant in Vsevolozhsk is part of the Tatneft Group's Tire Business, which also includes the Tengri Tyres tire plant in Saran, Kazakhstan, and the Birinchi Rezinotexnika Zavodi rubber plant in Angren, Uzbekistan.
