Istanbul facility to serve as “home of polyurethanes” for Middle East and Africa
Istanbul, Turkey – Evonik has strengthened technical service capabilities for Turkey as well as the Middle East, and African region with the launch of a polyurethane (PU) technical service centre at its Istanbul site.
The 500 square metre "home of polyurethanes" facility offers regional customers digital analysis methods for PU foam applications, technical service, and customised training, said Evonik 31 May.
With the launch of the new centre, Evonik said it hoped to “maximise” the region’s high-growth potential PU markets through scaling up activities at the new regional hub.
“Our new ‘home of polyurethanes’ plays a key role in helping us trigger the development of several new product solutions locally,” said Ralph Marquardt, head of Evonik's PU additives business.
According to Marquardt, the centre employs digitalisation and artificial intelligence to help optimise production-line settings and thus the efficiency of slabstock foam machines.
Furthermore, Evonik will focus on a wide range of physical tests of PU foam applications, as well as customised customer seminars and training courses in Istanbul.
