Kirkland, Washington – US compounder Prism Worldwide has recently launched a new car mat comprising 50% recycled elastomer materials.
The Cirx car mats include Prism’s Ancora C-1082 thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), which incorporate 50% recycled content derived from end-of-life tires.
The recycled content enhance the durability and functionality of the car mats, while presenting a new application for the Ancora family of TPEs, said the company 26 Aug.
The technology represents “a significant advance in using recycled materials without compromising on quality or performance,” said Mark Kinkelaar, chief commercial officer at Prism.
The car mats are currently available for purchase online but Prism expects to supply them directly to automotive retailers in the near future.
