Industry veteran Donald Wiseman takes over as chief executive of US compounder
Pawtucket, Rhode Island – Teknor Apex has named industry veteran Donald Wiseman as chief executive officer to succeed Jonathan Fain who led the company for the past 51 years.
Fain, whose grandfather Alfred Fain founded Teknor Apex, has decided to step down as CEO but will remain a “major stakeholder”, said Teknor Apex in a statement 11 Sept.
He will also continue to serve as chairman of the board; a position assumed from his father, the statement added.
“While I am not retiring, I do want to hand over the day-to-day responsibility to someone who can drive to keep the company strong,” said Fain welcoming Wiseman to the company.
The new CEO has “a robust history” within the polymer industry and “deep expertise” in masterbatches and compounding, according to Teknor Apex.
Most recently he held the position of CEO at US-based compounder Star Plastics.
Previously, he was the president for performance products and solutions with PolyOne; MD and general manager in Taiwan for Cabot Microelectronics; and held “various leadership roles” at Americhem.
Upon his appointment, Wiseman said he will demonstrate Teknor’s competitive advantage by “removing barriers, collaborating, and rewarding performance to ambitious goals.”
