Univar expands silicone additives distribution deal with Dow

Downers Grove, Illinois – Univar Solutions Inc. is expanding its distribution partnership with Dow into Germany, with the addition of silicone additives and resins in its portfolio of offerings.

The distributor will market “a wide variety” of Dowsil silicone additives and Dowsil silicone resins in Germany to strengthen its portfolio in the region for paint and coatings applications.

The expanded silicones portfolio will be supported by Univar’s technical expertise at its Essen solution centre in Germany, said Chris Fitzgerald, global VP CASE.

Created for water-borne and solvent-borne formulations, silicone additives are used to provide thermal and moisture resistance, improved weatherability, colour and gloss retention, compliance with VOC regulations, and organic resin compatibility.
