Doubles the area of the compounding operation and technology unit to a total of 5,000m2
Kunshan, China – German-based compounder Lehvoss Group has announced a relocation and capacity expansion of its compounding operation in China.
The project was marked by the official opening of a new production facility and technology centre in Kunshan, Jiangsu province on 30 Aug.
In a 5 Sept statement, Lehvoss said the new facility doubles the area of the compounding operation and technology unit to a total of 5,000m2.
The expansion, it added, allows the group "to continue to grow with existing customers and to further expand its market position in the dynamic Chinese market."
LehVoss opened its Kunshan operations in 2016 in response to increasing demand for its compounds and services in China and Korea.
The facility, however, had become too small to meet the "very dynamic growth" for compounding activities in these markets, the compounder explained.
“We have achieved a very strong presence and significant growth in China in just a few years,” said Xuesong Zhang, MD LehVoss (Shanghai) Chemical and president of Lehvoss China.
“Asia and especially China has become a very important mainstay for us,” said Dr Thomas Oehmichen, personally liable partner of Lehmann & Voss and head of the plastics business in his speech at the opening of the new LehVoss plant in Kunshan.
“We not only serve the local branches of our European customers here, but we have also been able to win numerous Asian customers,” added Oehmichen.
