Adidas created the official match ball for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, taking place 20 July -20 Aug in Australia and New Zealand. Featuring ‘connected ball technology’, the Oceaunz is designed to provide precise data to match officials in real-time. The technology includes a suspension system in the centre of the ball incorporating a 500Hz inertial measurement unit motion sensor. The ball’s polyurethane skin features micro and macro textures and a new 20-piece panel shape, enhancing aerodynamics. A special ‘core’ within the ball, meanwhile, is designed to improve accuracy and consistency, supporting fast, precise play with maximum shape and air retention.
