Toyoda Gosei (TG) has developed a flat placement compact wireless charging holder for smartphones: enabling the devices to be easily placed on in-vehicle chargers. With a simplified charger structure, this holder is about 60% smaller than similar products from other companies, according to the Japanese manufacturer. This makes it “easier to employ in compact cars with limited space, said TG, noting that the product leverage its core rubber and plastics technologies for improved cabin comfort. A side-standing type of charging holder – in which the phone is placed on its long edge  –  is already used on the new model Prius from Toyota Motor, the company continued. “The new flat placement type will be used on some specifications of the new Yaris Cross in southeast Asia,” added TG.
