Gaboriaud “a competitive person who is passionate about innovations and wants to help Enviro win”
Stockholm – Michelin has appointed Fabien Gaboriaud as its representative to the board of tire recycler Scandinavian Enviro Systems.
Serving as SVP sustainable materials and circularity, Gaboriaud is overall responsible for Michelin's strategic investments in environmentally sustainable solutions.
Gaboriaud joined Michelin in 2009 and has more than 40 years of combined experience in materials research, added Enviro's statement issued 13 July.
He holds a PhD in physical chemistry and served as Michelin’s material research director between 2017 and 2023.
In that role, Gaboriaud led the development of materials related to tire applications and new high-tech materials for industries such as hydrogen, medical and flexible composites.
He joined Michelin’s “high tech materials” division in July as SVP and will be responsible for “coordinating and orchestrating” the group’s internal and external strategies in sustainability.
Gaboriaud described Michelin's commitment to Enviro as “very strong”, adding: "I don’t take a board position to fail, but will put all my energy into this.”
“I am a distinctly competitive person... My goal is to help with my skills to develop the right strategy and to help Enviro to win," he added.
With a 20% share in Enviro, Michelin is the tire recycler's largest shareholder and has been in a number of strategic partnerships with the company to scale up its waste tire pyrolysis technology globally.
