Tokyo – Denka Corp. has formed an investigation committee to establish the cause of a fatal accident at its chloroprene rubber production plant in Omi, Japan last month.
One person was killed and two others were injured in a pipe-burst incident at the facility on 14 June.
In a statement 11 July, the Japanese group said it is fully cooperating with the committee, which also includes outside experts and “relevant authorities”.
The group went on to add that it has also conducted an internal investigation into the incident.
In addition to Denka officials, the committee includes representatives from the local technical safety office; human resource experts and university professors.
Denka said it will disclose the findings of the committee as soon as a report is finalised.
