Kraiburg TPE has been supplying thermoplastic elastomers for use in medical device components and buttons. The German compounder’s Thermolast H series of compounds meet “functional and aesthetic criteria” in medical device buttons, such as soft-touch, colour, durability, good haptics and safety. Free of animal components, PVC, silicone, and latex, the range can be sterilised in an autoclave at 121°C or by ethylene oxide, making it suitable for use in medical devices. The compounder has primarily targeted Asia Pacific as the market for the product.
