Trelleborg completes acquisition of US aerospace parts maker

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Group has completed the purchase of a US-based aerospace parts manufacturing operation through its Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) business.

Previously part of privately owned 4M Co. Inc., the acquired unit specialises in sealing solutions for aerospace and industrial applications, Trelleborg said 30 June.

With annual sales of SEK85 million (€7.6 million), the US operation’s head office and manufacturing are located in Tukwila, Washington.

TSS initially announced the acquisition in March, president Peter Hahn noting “strong demand for aerospace seals with a continued positive trend for several years to come.”

The acquisition, according to Hahn, means TSS can increase its capacity to produce elastomers used in a range of aerospace seals.

The deal, he added, also enables the Swedish group to broaden its product range, for instance by adding conductive seals to the portfolio.
