London – Freudenberg Group has emerged as the world’s largest manufacturer of non-tire rubber products with sales of around $7.4 billion in 2022 – representing an estimated 60% of its overall revenues.
The figures gave Freudenberg a sizeable lead over ContiTech in ERJ’s annual survey of the global sector – compiled in association with US-based Rubber News magazine.
With global sales of around $6.9 billion, automotive and industrial parts maker ContiTech ranked just above Hutchinson and Parker-Hannifin with sales of about $4.6 billion and $4.4 billion, respectively.
Further down the top 10 were Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. and Bridgestone Corp., with global rubber product sales estimated respectively at around $2.4 billion and $2.3 billion.
Among some interesting new entrants in this year’s rankings, Holcim Group came in just outside the top 10, with sales of about $2.2 billion.
Holcim’s ambitious plans for expansion in the construction sector, include a $4-billion target for global roofing-product sales by 2025.
