Tay Ninh facility to "upgrade technology and equipment to build a smarter, more advanced and eco-friendlier factory..."
Tay Ninh, Vietnam – Sailun group executives have paid a recent visit to Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province for discussions with senior officials of the local government there, the Chinese tire maker has reported.
Tay Ninh is home to Sailun’s first overseas manufacturing plant and represents the company’s first step in its internationalisation strategy, according to a company statement.
The delegation, it said, was led by Yuan Zhongxue, director of National Engineering Research Center for Rubber and Tire (NERCRAT) and honorary chairman of Sailun Group.
Accompanying Yuan were Sailun Group chair Jane Liu, president Xie Xiaohong and Cao Guoqiang, deputy general manager of the company’s factory in Vietnam, added the statement.
The Sailun team met Nguyen Thanh Tam, secretary of party committee of Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province and Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, chair of Tay Ninh province’s People’s Committee, at Tay Ninh on May 9.
During the visit, Yuan noted the Tay Ninh provincial government support for Sailun’s Vietnam factory during the Covid-19 crisis: safeguarding its Chinese and Vietnamese employees amid a “rapid increase in production capacity.”
Describing it as “one of the world’s largest rubber tire factories”, Sailun said the “Vietnam facility will continue to upgrade its technology and equipment to build a smarter, more advanced and eco-friendlier factory.”
Welcoming the delegation, Nguyen Thanh Tam noted the Sailun factory’s ‘rapid growth: offering employment opportunities to locals, promoting economic development and fulfilling its social responsibility in Vietnam.’
Tay Ninh provincial government hopes "the company would increase its investments and accelerate improvements to achieve further growth," the party secretary added in the Sailun statement.
For its part, Sailun said it "will leverage on the strengths of NERCRAT’s supply-chain to accelerate the use of new equipment and technologies in the Vietnam factory."
Furthermore, the Chinese group aims to "build a new model of an advanced global tire manufacturing facility’ at the Tay Ninh site," according to its statement.
