MOFCOM decides to maintain duties on CR from Japan, US and the European Union
Beijing – China is to continue anti-dumping duties on chloroprene rubber (CR) originating from Japan, the US and the European Union (EU), the ministry of commerce (MOFCOM) has announced.
The five-year decision is an extension of the duties originally imposed in 2005 and follows a sunset review by the Chinese customs tariff commission, said MOFCOM.
The duties include tax rates of 20.8% for Japan’s Denka Co. Ltd and Showa Denko Co., according to the 9 May statement.
The ministry has imposed a 10.2% tax rate on CR products from Tosoh Corp. while “other Japanese companies” have seen a duty rate of nearly 44% applied.
All US companies will see a 151% taxation continue on their CR products, while for EU suppliers, duties are set at: 11% on Arlanxeo Germany; 53%, Eni Rubber France, and 151% other EU companies.
CR is widely used in industrial applications, including wire & cable sheaths, hoses, oil-resistant rubber products as well as in sealing and waterproofing applications.
