Audi selects Conti for OE tires on RS 6 Avant Performance

Hanover, Germany – Continental AG has been awarded worldwide OE approval to supply tires for Audi’s RS 6 Avant Performance.

The German manufacturer will supply the Continental SportsContact 7 tires in the 22-inch size for the performance version of the car.

The SportContact 7 is a high-performance summer tire designed for powerful, sporty vehicles, according to a Continental statement 9 May.

Compared its predecessor, the tire reduces wet braking distances by 8% and dry braking distance by 6%.

The tire’s mileage has also been extended by 17% compared to the previous model.

Fitted with ContiSilent technology, the tire reduces the rolling noise by as much as nine decibels.

This technology involves a special foam layer attached to the inside of the tire tread, which even more effectively blocks the vibrations generated by the tire, according to Continental.
