Safic-Alcan East Africa to complement existing regional hubs in South Africa, Egypt
Paris – French chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan has expanded its presence in Africa with the establishment of a new subsidiary office in Kenya.
Based in Nairobi, Safic-Alcan East Africa will serve East African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The unit will complement Safic-Alcan's existing regional hubs in South Africa and Egypt, the French group said in a 17 April statement.
The subsidiary enables the group to “better cater” to the needs of its growing customer base across the African continent.
Safic-Alcan has appointed Philip Kamau as development director East Africa.
He holds a degree in chemistry and has been in a similar position in chemical distribution industry for the past nine years.
"By investing in Africa, we are catering to a consumer market of 250 million people in Eastern Africa,” said Yann Lissillour, CEO of the Safic-Alcan group.
