Links with Amazon Web Services and Snowflake to create an artificial intelligence platform for tire technologies
Neu-Isenburg, Germany – Hankook has partnered with US cloud and software specialists Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Snowflake to create an artificial intelligence (AI) platform for tire technology.
The aim is to create an integrated AI-based data analysis infrastructure to improve tire performance and quality, said the South Korean manufacturing group.
This will tap AI and machine learning (ML) technologies to gather “internal and external data” from Hanook’s in-house R&D and other 'mobility customer' sources.
The platform will also analyse 'vehicle operation' and related data to help develop autonomous driving technologies, added Hankook's 21 April announcement.
Meanwhile, Hankook also expects the use the enhanced AI capabilities to increase efficiency of new-product development and address quality issues.
The ‘digital ecosystem’ is also expected to help Hankook subsidiaries and employees identify new-business opportunities and enhance competitiveness.
Snowflake will act as a data warehouse to promote cloud migration and digital transformation, the tire maker continued.
The project will leverage a data lake environment and analysis infrastructure for secure storage and processing of vast amounts of data.
