Mississippi plant worker found “pinned between machinery” by co-workers
Lexington County, South Carolina – A worker at Michelin’s earthmover tire production facility in Lexington County has been found dead, according to the local coroner’s office.
In a statement 16 April, coroner Margaret Fisher said Mark Lepkowski had been found pinned between machinery by co-workers on 13 April.
“EMS [emergency services] responded and Lepkowski was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead,” she added.
An autopsy on 14 April determined the preliminary cause of death as “compressional asphyxia.”
The Lexington county coroner’s office along with the occupational safety and health administration are investigating the incident.
