Commerce reports “timely requests” for review of duties with February anniversary dates
Washington – The US Department of Commerce is reviewing anti-dumping and countervailing duties on truck & bus tires originating from China.
In an announcement 11 April, the department said it had received “timely requests” for administrative reviews of any such duties with February anniversary dates.
Commerce will look into anti-dumping duties on tires from Qingdao Fullrun Tyre Corp. Ltd; Shandong Haohua Tire Co. Ltd; Shandong Kaixuan Rubber Co., Ltd and Shandong Transtone Tyre Co. Ltd.
The countervailing duties review will cover tariffs on a larger list of tire makers, including Bridgestone, Cooper Tire, Goodyear, Sailun, Hankook , General Science and Prix Chengshan.
The period under review will be 2 Jan 2022 to 31 Jan 2023, according to the Department of Commerce statement.
Introduced in 2019, countervailing duties ranging from 20.98% to 63.34% and antidumping of between 9.00% and 22.57% were applied to protect US industry.
Commerce imposed the trade measures following a petition by the United Steelworkers union.
