Sunset review determines that revoking duties would cause material injury to local industry
Washington – The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has voted to keep anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imports of off-the-road tires (OTR) from India.
In its ruling, the ITC determined that revoking the duties would likely lead to a “continuation or recurrence” of material injury to local industry.
As a result of the commission’s affirmative determinations, the existing orders on imports of OTR tires from India will remain in place, the ITC stated 7 April.
International trade rules require a 'sunset' review five years after the introduction of antidumping or countervailing duty orders, to establish if these measures are still required.
The five-year reviews concerning OTR products from Indiawere instituted on 1 Feb, 2022, the ITC pointed out.
Full details of the ITC's findings will be available in a report, titled 'Pneumatic Off-the-Road Tires from India', to be issued by 25 May.
