Freudenberg Sealing Technologies unveils expansion at Spanish site

Weinheim, Germany – Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) is expanding its automotive parts production site in Parets del Valles, to the north of Barcelona.

The company is investing €10 million in a new facility, which is currently being built near its existing site in Parets, said FST in a statement to ERJ 5 April.

Set for start-up later this year, the facility will produce parts for both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles, the German-based company said.

Alongside the expansion, the German seals manufacturer is upgrading the existing production unit at Parets, which has been operational since the 1970s.

“In view of the increasing demand for automotive elastomer products, we decided to completely rebuild the site,” the manufacturer explained.

FST said the new 6,500m2 facility will be “one of the most modern and sustainable” plants of the company worldwide.

The unit will include LED lighting system and solar panels on the roof to supply renewable energy to the site.
