Facility to provide ‘better and more diversified’ products for downstream industry
Quanzhou, China – Sinochem-owned Quanzhou Petrochemicals is building a 70 kilotonne per annum (ktpa) carbon black production plant in Huian, on the eastern coast of China.
The facility is designed to produce various rubber and speciality grade carbon blacks at the facility, said a recent Sinochem statement.
According to the Chinese group's statement, the project carries an estimated investment cost of Yuan400 million (€55 million).
Construction work on the project started in November last year, with physical completion of the facility scheduled for October.
Trial production is then set to start in December this year, the Chinese petrochemicals major added.
With the new plant, Quanzhou Petrochemicals aims to provide “better and more diversified products” for downstream carbon black user industries.
