Momentive expanding speciality silicones capacity in Thailand

Niskayuna, New York – Momentive Performance Materials is expanding its speciality silicones capacity with a new manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand.

The unit will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity to serve the growing south east Asian market demand, according to a 22 Feb company statement.

The facility, which will be Momentive’s second plant in Rayong, will supply industries such as automotive, energy, healthcare, and beauty & personal care.

The project is part of the company’s “in-region-for-region strategy” to provide a reliable supply capability for south east Asia customers, said V P Nalian, president & general manager of Momentive’s performance additives business.

The new facility, according to Nalian, will produce sustainable solutions and will meet “the most stringent production process safety standards.”
