Polymers manufactured in France subject to additional ‘energy surcharges’
Houston, Texas – US polymer supplier Kraton Corp. is introducing a general price hike $440/tonne (€375/tonne) for all hydrogenated styrene block-copolymer (HSBC) products.
The price increase, effective 1 April, is driven by the recent “significant” raw materials cost increases and the sharp rise in energy prices and logistics costs, said Kraton 10 March.
Furthermore, Kraton said, given the “unprecedented increases” for natural gas costs in Europe, the company will apply additional energy surcharges to HSBC polymers produced at its plant in Berre, France.
