London: Synthomer has opened a 90-kilotonne expansion to its nitrile latex production facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor district, south of Malaysia.
The €56-million expansion, said Synthomer 11 Nov, is the first phase of a two-phase project aimed to support the glove industry growth in Malaysia and globally.
Synthomer will be adding another 60 kilotonnes of capacity at the site by 2020 as part of the phase two of the project.
The UK company also announced that it is currently building a new “state-of-the-art” Asian innovation centre in Malaysia’s southern Johor district. The €7.4-million facility is set for operation in early 2020.
