Current geopolitical climate, tariff uncertainty and constraints in global supply chains affect delivery process
Newmarket, Ontario – AirBoss of America says supply chain constraints could delay deliveries under a $45-million (€40 million) contract for lightweight explosive device systems.
The company has so far delivered $17 million worth of the Bandolier 'energetic systems', with another products worth a further $2.5 million in transit.
However, due to “supply chain constraints affecting certain critical components,” the Canadian compounder expects delays in the timing of future shipments.
AirBoss said it is working with suppliers and government partners to manage the situation, citing issues around global geopolitical tensions and trade tariffs.
“We are actively managing... the potential impact to delivery timelines under the current Bandolier contract,” said Chris Bitsakakis, president and co-CEO of AirBoss.
Bandolier is described as a "lightweight and modular energetic system that can be employed across mobility, counter mobility, and survivability mission profiles."
