Univar to distribute Cabot rubber blacks in Brazil

Sao Paulo, Brazil – Univar Solutions Brasil, a subsidiary of Univar Solutions LLC, has expanded its partnership with Cabot Corp. to include the distribution of rubber grade carbon blacks in Brazil.

The new distribution agreement supports the growing demand for high-performance reinforcing materials in automotive and industrial applications, said Univar 10 April.

Furthermore, it complements the existing relationship between the two companies, with Univar Solutions distributing Cabot's speciality carbon products for Brazil's plastics and batteries markets.

The move is part of Univar’s strategy to grow its “ingredients and specialties business” in Latin America, said Jorge Buckup, president of Latin America for Univar Solutions.

The new agreement, Buckup said, “underscores our commitment to… the automotive sector and industrial rubber products market."

Univar will be offering a portfolio of Cabot’s products, including Endure, Propel, Regal, Sterling, and Vulcan carbon blacks for elastomer reinforcement product families.

The products can be used in a wide range of rubber applications, such as hoses and belts, automotive weather stripping, moulded rubber products, and tires.
